From Isla Del Sol, we headed to La Paz, the highest capital city in the world (approx. 3500m). We went on a three day trek with our tour guide, Mario (an hour drive from La Paz). The inca trail decended from 5000m to 2500m along  a slippery stone pathway. We were off to a rough start with snowy conditions at first, then rain and fog for the remainder of the first day, sweet! Luckily the fog lifted the following day and we were able to enjoy never ending breathtaking views of the subtropical landscape. Our trail followed deep river valleys and hugged the sides of mountains. Butterflies lit up our way with flashes of color.  We ate basic meals and camped out at remote locations..rarely seeing another person, except for more adorable kids. It was a great way to appreciate Bolvia´s pristine landscape.
