Iguazu Falls Argentina Nov 27 to 29

After taking a 20 minute boat ride across the Uruguayan border, we reached Argentina and continued on to Puerto Iguazu where we spent the next two days exploring Iguazu Falls from every possible vantage point.

Iguazu Falls park was quite well designed with a decent trail system through the sub tropic environment and raised walkways closer to the falls.  A small train took people to the Garganta del Diablo, the most impressive, powerful mouth of one of the many falls. Iguazu is more like a complex of waterfalls than a falls, and is twice as wide as Niagara Falls with 275 cascades spread in a horsehoe shape over nearly two miles of the Iguazu River.

It was the most stunning, idillic, impressive view of waterfalls I think I´ll ever see. The beauty is enhanced that much more by its setting, a rich green backdrop of the jungle rainforest. We also took a powerboat ride to get a closer look and ended up getting completely drenched by the spray, which was great on a sweltering day.

We walked a few hours to visit a smaller waterfall south of the main area, where we could swim and stand under the waterfall. It felt like we were in that movie Blue Lagoon.

There is also the option of seeing the falls from the Brazil side but we´d had our fill by then.  We crossed the bridge into Brazil to make our way to the Pantanal.
